Why Do People Support?

"I am very grateful to be the very first foreigner in the Plant-A-Tree Program since its launching in November last year. There are few things in life that gives you such a long-term perspective as planting trees. When living in Sweden, nature is never far away. Almost 75% of the area is covered by forests, mountains, lakes and rivers. Personally I love to plant trees and I must have planted at least 25 trees in my own garden in Sweden. I want to express my appreciation to my dynamic and committed friends at the National Parks Board for taking this initiative and would encourage more people to join the program with their families, friends and colleagues."

"At Citi, we are committed to pursuing good business practices that promote environmental and social sustainability. In this respect, we are continuously looking at the potential impact of our business activities and the role we can play in reducing environmental risk and impact. One project that we are currently pursuing is to reduce paper wastage and leverage on technology to serve our customers better. This is very much in line with our global efforts to build and maintain a sustainable environment for present and future generations."

"We want to educate our children to have the same spirit of service to the community and in the current context of global warming, we felt it was meaningful for our children to plant trees.... We want our children to learn more about trees particularly because we want them to remember that our school’s name stands for a community of trees. By investing in trees, we hope that our children will, not only find more about science & nature, but also learn to love and care for the environment. Our effort may be a drop in the bucket, but we hope that it will have pay-it-forward effect on our stakeholders, partners and friends, so that together, we can make a positive contribution to human progress."
