Orchid Conservation Fund

Save our native orchids!

You may already be familiar with our national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim. However, most of us probably do not know that Singapore has some 226 species of native wild orchids recorded locally. 178 of them are now extinct, and have disappeared forever.

You may not realise that out of the remaining 48 native orchids, 43 are either critically endangered or rare and only 5 are common.

You can do Your Part!

Help the survival of Our Native Orchids

Your role here is to give nature a little helping hand, to increase these orchids’ chances of survival in today's urban environment.

With the help of local orchid experts at the National Parks Board, the Garden City Fund, a registered charity and IPC, has started an Orchid Conservation Fund to raise some $250,000 to help our Native Orchids.

Donations to this fund will be used to propagate and reintroduce our rare and endangered Orchid species back into the streets of our Garden City. Over time, these Orchids should regenerate on their own.

Every Effort Will Make a Difference!

Your $50 donation will enable one small to medium-size orchid to be planted back into the natural environment.  $100 will enable a large-size one.

Your donation will entitle you to a 2.5 times tax deduction.  To support the cause, simply write a cheque to the Garden City Fund with your name, NRIC/Fin number, contact details and mail to:
